Work in Progress
House Addons are large items which are represented as deeds that can be placed inside a person's home and property. While most serve a purpose, some are purely decorations.

*To place an Addon you need to stand where you wish to place it, and double-click the deed in your inventory. Often you will get a choice menu of directions for the object to face or versions of the item, if such choices are available.
*To pickup the item you will need to use the house-command "I wish to release this" (which is the same command as "I wish to lock this down" and can be used also).

Craftable Addons
“Show me your back, and I shall show you true pain” – such is the mantra of the assassin. With her stealthy and poisonous abilities, this character can deal grand amounts of pain to a single, unknowing, target. As a rogue, the assassin can also open locks and remove traps.

The special thing about assassins is their ability to wear special Assassin hoods that enhances his natural stealth abilities aswell as hiding their identity and boosting their ability to backstab his targets. The downside to these is that only the best assassins can wear them, they require 100 hiding and stealth to use, they are very hard to make and only craftable from Black dragon hide and those that are able to wear them are restricted from mounting any steeds or wearing any armor.

The Assassins training with poisons also give him natural resistance to poisons. Only the Assassin benefits from this special bonus and it comes from base poisoning skill, therefore there's no gain from magical clothing.
Order of Law worship the god Winchester.

The current head priest is Kane.

The Order is located in Britain and opposes Imperial, Tekstone and all kind of criminal brigands. They allow all classes, but merchants, necromancers and thieves.

Men of Law fight with honor and take pride in any battle they win, no matter how many advantages they might have had. Rescuing and defending the innocent, and following the commandings set forth by Lord British, is what this Order is all about. Men of Law do not associate with known murderers, unless there are great times of trouble.

History
The first religion found, `cause of the villains flooding the lands of Britannia, an order to uphold law and justice was created. Their god Winchester, once a brave and unspiritual knight of Lord British, stands for the good and pure hearted soul. The Order of Law is located in Britain, they follow the laws set out by Lord British and their own code of laws.

Retrieved from shard's history:
But everything changed in the ninth circle of Destruction. Nothing would be the same again. A mortal man had been born, his name was Winchester and with his pure heart and mighty sword he had earned himself respect among his fellow man. A prophecy said that a mortal man would be the one to stop the endless war and bring order to the world. This man was Winchester. In his younger years he had become the commander of Lord British’s army and most trusted warrior. Lord British the seventh, the king who had built up the great city of Britain, made it posper by trade and commerce, order and justice. For Lord British’s empire to grow he would have purge Dennac and his followers from the mortal realm. He called upon Sir Winchester who was ordered to start a campaign against the God Dennac. After many epic battles the outcome of the war was still unclear so Sir Winchester and a group of men were sent out to investigate the rumour of cult called Tek-stone, mortal men who had been corrupted by Dennac’s influence. This stone is the one Dennac used to corrupt humans and later used it to feed his army with anger and hatred, granting them supernatural powers. But if this stone could be found and destroyed there might be hope for a quick end to the war. Sir Winchester fought valiantly but failed in his task and was killed. The groups healer had tried to bring his body back to life, but something strange had happened. Instead of bringing him back to life, his body faded and his spirit rose up unto the heavens. A new god had been born. One whose purpose was to bring order and law to the land. The group of men who had followed Sir Winchester formed the Order of Law and dedicated their lives to defend those in need, uphold justice and maintain order over the land. With Winchester’s help the Order of Law almost succeeded in destroying Dennac and his followers. Many thought that Dennac was beaten for good and that peace would finally be obtained. It took almost a year for Dennac to build up a new cult. War had broken out once again but with less evil influence from Dennac as now he had Winchester to deal with.

Eric: Created page with "Category:Rules Category:Library Macroing is when you use the same skill over and over again to train it. This can be done manually or with a Third Party program..."

Macroing is when you use the same skill over and over again to train it. This can be done manually or with a Third Party program such as UO Loop. All players can macro freely as long as they do it attended, meaning that they must keep an eye on the screen while macroing. Game Masters and the ‘Auto-macro-check’ will randomly check up on players who macro to make sure they do it attended. When a player is checked a ‘Macro-gump’ will pop up on the screen displaying a number, this number must be added in a text box before clicking the “Okay” button.

Another way players are checked for unattended macroing is if a GM reveals himself in GM-form next to you, and start to talk to you. Failure to answer correct or failing to answer within 5 minutes will result in skill and stat loss, the skill will be dropped to 0% and that stat(s) belonging to the skill will be dropped to half of its current value (stats will never be dropped below 40). Game Masters and the auto macrocheck can monitor when a skill was last used, this will insure that no one will be dropped in a skill that was not being trained. When a Game master checks a player he will drop the skill after the 5 min had passed, but the auto macro check will not drop skills, it will log the macro-info in a log file, and a GM will do the actually decrease of skill and stats.

Illegal
:*Luring aggressive NPC’s inside a house to macro/train skills is illegal, since its abusing their limited AI. The rule does not apply for non-aggressive NPC like horses, birds etc.
:*Any training situation where the monster is stuck, or prevented to get to you, will be considered as abusing.
:*Any use of programs or script attempting to cheat the automacrocheck will result in a punishment.
:::Good example of cheating script is auto-disconnect during the macrocheck gump which usage results in a punishment.

:;Macro alarm is allowed as long as you are around to answer the macrocheck yourself within 5 minutes.

:You are welcome to spar with another player for skillgain, we’ve restricted people from using low damaging weapons to gain skills, so you are welcome to spar in any way you would like as long as you remember, you are still under the rules about unattended macroing.

Punishment
:If you fail a macrocheck, the skill you were training will be dropped.
::This is done manually by a Gamemaster, so failing to answer the gump macrocheck will not drop your skill immediately.
::;Every 3rd mark on your account (including those from macrochecks) will result in 3 days jail.
Cheating Macrochecks
:Cheating a macrocheck using scripts is highly illegal and can lead to the banning of your account.
:#Using a script to cheat the macrocheck: 14d jail + macroed skill dropped to 0 + stat drop (1st time)
:#Using a script to cheat the macrocheck: 30d jail + character wipe (2nd time)
:#Using a script to cheat the macrocheck: Account banned (3rd and final strike)

Automated Macroing
:In order to gain skill players often use semi or fully automatic macros, but when you make a macro there are a few things you should consider. A ‘bad’ macro will generate error in the console which can lead to shard lag. Many Third Party programs can send messages to the shard, even before the shard has requested it, a good example is the “select target” message.

::Lets say Bob wants to marco item-ID, so he makes a macro that uses the item-ID skill. Then he tells his macro program to select last target, but since Bob’s macro program sends the “last target” message to the server right away, before the shard asks for it, the shard throws an error about this “Unexpected message”.

:;Now, here are some tips on how to make a ‘good’ macro.
:#Always use the ‘WaitForTarget’ or a delay, before you select an object’
:#Always use a delay before you use the ‘CloseGump’
:#Never spam select target messages to the shard, in order to make a fast macro.

:;Some of the most common problems when players use easyUO are:
:*The client send a selectTarget, before the server has given the client the target cursor
:*The client spams the server with some specific command because the creator of the script was to “stupid”, to determine when this command should be send, so he just spams it.
:*Use of the LastSkill command, when no there is no lastSkill

:Use common programming sense when creating and using script, and DON’T ever send a command at a specific time, that you would not normally be able to do without the scripts at the specific point of time. If you all follow these simple rules, easyUO will continue to be legal on Pangaea benefiting everyone.

Beekeeping is only for the brave, since the Bees are quite ferocious when provoked. Animal Lore is useful for understanding the Bees, therefor not provoking them as often. Lumberjacking is used when harvesting from the hives.

Resources obtained through Beekeeping:
*Honey (mainly for making food)
*Wax (used for making beehives, and candles)

Beehives
You need a beehive to start your beekeeping, many can be found, but the tinker can craft it out of 20 Wax
*Beehives restock upon server restart (for some reason), so when you place a new beehive down, don't expect it to be producing much until the server is restarted.

Swarm of Bees
Bees hurt a lot, so you practically need to have a friend to heal you so you can at least finish harvesting from the hives.
*Your character will go "Uh Oh!" when they provoke the swarm of bees
**you'll be so surprised that you stop harvesting!
*Other creatures/players can be stung if they stand too close to the victim
*The effect of swarm of bees is same as poison
*The Bees can transfer over to another creature/player once their victim has succumb to their stings, so don't stand too close.
*Even if the Bees only come out for a limited time, triggering the Bees while harvesting while still under attack of bees will not refresh their duration.
*To pickup the item you will need to use the house-command "I wish to release this" (which is the same command as "I wish to lock this down" and can be used also).

Player vs. Player or PvP is when you as a player go up against another player(s). This offers a different experience than that of the artificial intelligence usually easily out smarted in PvM.

PvP rules summary

Before engaging PVP, you must RolePlay the reasons for the opposing party why is he killed. If there is WAR between the opposing parties looting is allowed. If there is no chance for RP and the victim starts running away, even though the engaging party is yelling HALT, its legal to attack. You need to have screenshots from the situation to prove the kill and looting legal and done with RP or by halting a running victim. If the opposing parties are not in war or the other party are not robbers looting is not allowed. Attacker has always the responsibility of showing the pictures of RP to GM, if there is a doubt of the kill being legal. Robbers must always after robbery upload the pictures to pangaea homepages.

Several important copy pastes from the homepages:

*"Pre-casting spells can be sign of hostility, but is not considered an attack, unless the involved guilds are at war, or war has been declared on the forum."
*"If the attacker fails to prove that the attack was done in accordance with the rules, he will have to return everything he looted from the corpse and replace any lost item if the game master finds the attacker responsibly for the loss"
*"It is not allowed to block a passage with wall of stone for another player BEFORE you introduce roleplay." There must be pictures of fulfilling this rule, so the RP must be done near the entrance, which is about to be blocked. As an addition to this rule: "Casting stonewall prematurely is considered an attack no matter if the player is harmed or not."
*"It is illegal to join a fight on your alternate character from now on, regardless of the circumstances."
*"Using a macro to quickly fire off the reason for the attack is not allowed for 2 reasons, if you fire off the macro the player will have little chance to even read it, and secondly because it will lower the role play quality if each attack will be stated with the same macro every time."

If you feel like something is illegal, don't do it... Example using boats as a tool to kill someone is highly illegal. So for your safety, always RP before fighting. Most important of all is taking loads of pictures.

I still suggest reading the complete rules, there are quite a bit of special situations which are not included in here, but this is all the basic stuff that you should know incase you are attacked. It lessens the amount of work GM's have to do, if you are clear yourself of the fact if the robbery/kill was legal or illegal.

~Ivan

Rules
Before you engage yourself in a Player versus Player (PvP) related situations, you must read the rules below thoroughly and follow them. PvP in general is a very touchy topic, so rule breakings are never popular. Pangaea is not a PvP or Player killing (PK) oriented shard, but we feel that PvP to a certain point can be great asset to RP, which is why it is allowed. Situations where the rules have been bent or misinterpreted, will likely fall out to the victim’s advantage so stay on your toes and don`t break the rules.

Any PvP situation where the game masters will be involved to solve a dispute between two players, the attacker will be responsibly to provide screenshots there CLEARLY documents that the attack was in accordance with the rules. (You will be the attacker if your opponent gets the *’Name’ is attacking you*). However, when attacked it is recommended to take a screenshot with [printscreen] button of the journal with the text saying “XXXXXX is attacking you!” and pasting it to Irfanview (Downloadable from pangaeaworld.dk’s file section) or some other image altering program (MS Paint for example) using Ctrl+V command. This way you ensure the right judgement and ease the work of the GM handling the case. Pre-casting spells can be sign of hostility, but is not considered an attack, unless the involved guilds are at war, or war has been declared on the forum.

If the attacker fails to prove that the attack was done in accordance with the rules, he will have to return everything he looted from the corpse and replace any lost item if the game master finds the attacker responsibly for the loss. The only evidence the victim must provide is that he in fact was attacked, this can be done with a single screenshot of your journal that shows the *’Name’ is attacking you*. These rules are made to protect both parties of a PvP conflict.

Before an attack
:For an attack to be acceptable there must be a role play reason for the attack, and this reason MUST be made perfectly clear to the victim BEFORE the attack start (before the victim receives the *’Name’ is attacking you*). Using a macro to quickly fire off the reason for the attack is not allowed for 2 reasons, if you fire off the macro the player will have little chance to even read it, and secondly because it will lower the role play quality if each attack will be stated with the same macro every time. After you have told your victim the reason for your attack, you must wait a few seconds until before you can attack, to be sure the victim have a change to read the reason. This rule will have to be enforced strictly to prevent situations where the attacker fires off his reason and then attacks right away. If your reason for an attack is revenge, insults etc. you must have evidence for those reasons in the form of a screenshot.

Murders
:Murderers are outlaws and CAN be attacked/killed solely for that reason, this does NOT mean that you can attack on sight. Murderers in general receives little to no help with in-character stuff, we of course treat you the same out of character, but don’t expect Lord British to help you. Murderers names are written with red text (assuming you are using the defaults text colors on your client) .

:There are certain areas where murders should avoid hanging out, such as Britain graveyard and the newbie training ground. It is Law’s job to keep reds away from the graveyard, but they are not allowed to attack on sight no matter what.

:If a Law member tells a wanted man to stop/not run(on the graveyard or elsewhere), and the wanted runs he can be killed just like robbers can kill there victims if they try to flee during the robbery.

:Law must of course have SS that proves that the red did run after he was warned not to, just like robbers have to prove it.

Criminals
:Criminals are player who have been doing something criminal within the last 5 minutes, criminals can NOT be attacked solely for the reason of being flagged criminal. Most criminal flags will wear off after 5 minutes, with the exception of some thief actions and one of Law’s rituals (this ritual will flag anyone criminal, who has committed some special crimes in the recent past).

Assassinations
:Assassinations can be performed only by Assassin class, and the assassin has to be hired by another player, to legalize the attack. Assassinations are the only type of attack, where the attacker can attack on sight. To prove the legality of the assassination, the assassin must have screenshots of the contract (some in game chat with the contractor, containing the contractor’s real name, the name of the victim, the reason for the assassination, the price of the hit, and any requested items). This screenshot has to be uploaded to the website shortly after the agreement has been made, but before the hit. A contract is valid for 30 days after the agreement was made (30 days after the SS is uploaded AND approved by a GM), and becomes invalid should the time period be exceeded. Should the contractor want to renew the contract, it should be threaded like a new contract.

:If there is no screenshots of the contract, the assassinations is considered illegal. The price of the assassination has to accommodate the risk of the hit, and an unreasonable price will make the contract invalid. No more then one person can be hired for a job, but if the contract requires it, the assassin can acquire help from a 2. person. The 2. is not allowed to perform any kind of aggressive action upon the victim, but he can act like a decoy. The assassin can only loot the head of the victim, and any item specified in the contract. It’s not enough to ask for the victims armour, the contractor has to give an exact description of the item, such as “If he my solar maul, I want it back. Is has the name ‘Flames of Hell’ engraved”.

Robberies
:Robberies – If you are going to rob someone you MUST role play it. This means hitting a macro (hot key) that says stop and hand over all your belongings or die, DOES NOT count as enough role play. However, if the victim decides to run with out saying a word, then the robber will be allowed to kill them. If the robbery is initiated while the victim is fighting an NPC (as in hunting), the victim is allowed to move out of the NPC attack range, without it being considered running away from the robber. If someone tells you that he will rob you, you are allowed to attack him without warning, as long as you take a screenshot to prove his intentions of robbing you. Should you choose to attack, you risk getting a murder count if you kill your robber, and you will have to live with that. No robber or robber guild is allowed to rob the same person more than once a week. Robbing a player in baseclass is considered illegal. Any robber can be marked as a murderer (enemy of Law) by the staff.

:After each robbery, you are obligated to upload enough screenshots, to prove proper role play. The screenshots should be uploaded as fast as possible, to ease the GM’s workload. If there are no or invalid proofs of the role play involved in the robbery, within one hour after the robbery started, the robbery is considered illegal.

Specifying a robbery:

:Person A must make it clear to person B that he must deliver his belonging (this is a robbery, hand over all gold etc) or else he will die. Person A must make it clear to person B that he’s performing a robbery. If person B hands over the items asked for, person A has gotten what he wanted and person B is free to go.

:Make sure your victim knows what your intentions are. Give a reasonable amount of time (NOT 10 seconds) and a warning if person B fails to deliver the asked items. If person B fails to reply in a reasonable amount of time (at least 30 seconds) to the warning set forth, person A can engage the PvP session.

Looting
:There are no rules in looting anymore. Everyone can loot each other as long as the RP is justified for the killing or if it’s a robbery in the question. If a guild or some group of players are constantly looting and killing people without a war or clear RP reason, it’s on GM’s discretion to declare the group of players as robbers or not.

:*Trashing or leaving looted items on the ground decaying is highly against the shard rules. If caught, we will fully item wipe your account.

Corpse Camping
:If a player is “corpse camping” and sees the corpse owner return to get his gear, and then prevents him from getting his gear without good reason, with spawning guards, or luring monsters, then it’s illegal. The dead player can prove it was corpse camping with a screenshot of him next to his corpse where a player is waiting. GM’s have the final say whether a reason was justified for the corpse camping, and in most cases it is not.

:If the corpse/s have decayed, and the items then lay on the ground, they are fair pickings and it is no longer considered corpse camping. Rough estimate is from 30 minutes when a player dies do their corpses decay. Note that this timer fluctuates and is not always the same.

:If the locale is such that the guarding of corpses it out of the players hands, then they are not responsible for the camping. Such a scenario would be a religion attacking another religions altar, and then dying. The emissaries guarding the Altar are not controlled by the defenders. Choose your locale wisely.

Insults
:If another player has been insulting you, you may take action toward them. However you still have to follow the normal PvP rules and specify why you attack.

Revenge
:Robbers or assassins who have threatened you or your friends life can be killed as revenge. However you still have to follow the normal PvP rules.
:Getting backup is allowed by using ICQ or another chat program. If you have been robbed, your friends may kill the robber shortly after the robbery (shortly is more then 10, but less then 30 minutes). After that they/you must introduce a new fight.

War
:Main reason for two guild to initiate a mutually agreed war is to avoid murdercounts to be collected on your character but still have fun with PvP. Members in both guilds can see this, when members of the other guild are orange to you, and not the normal (blue, red or grey). War can be set from the guildstones by the guildmasters or by gamemasters if they see war should be put in place but either side is not accepting for a reason or another.

:The rules of such war CAN be different from the normal PvP rules, but these changes must be agree on by both guild masters, and posted on the forum. (Both guild masters must post under the same message, telling their members that they have accepted these rules). The staff can always cancel the rules, if the are unacceptable.

Reinforcements
:Just before (when RP for the attack have been made), during or after a fight, you can send out pigeons asking friends, guild maters etc. for help. If the reinforcement arrives during or shortly after the fight, they are allowed to aid their friends by attacking the enemy right away. However it is the reinforcement’s responsibility that they only attacked enemies, and not innocent bystanders. Also keep in mind that aiding a enemy of certain guild/religion can be considered a valid RP reason to revenge on you.

:;Use of .mayday
:*Using the mayday-command is allowed only when you’re getting robbed/killed. Use it only after you have been clearly stated that you’re getting robbed or killed. If you receive mayday, you can attack the robbers/murderers without roleplay but only shortly after the mayday is sent.

Magic prisons
:If you are going to imprison someone you must have a very good role play reason to do so, since this rite could prevent your victim from players for quite a long time. It is not allowed to use this on newbie’s unless you have a very good reason (If someone creates a new character just to badmouth you etc.). When you imprison someone you have to provide screenshots of your role play, just like when you kill another player. Also your role play reason has to be very good before this kind of punishment is allowed, not just someone has killed you once or looted from a critter you killed. Manhunts does not change the rules for imprisonment, you will still need to make it clear for the victim why you are going to imprison him/her, even if it required you paralyse the victim while you explain your reasons.

:After the imprisonment, you are obligated to upload enough screenshots, to prove proper role play, and state your reason for the imprisonment. The reason for the imprisonment has to at least be stated in the description of the file, but preferable shown on the screenshots. You should upload the screenshots as fast as possibly, to easy the GM’s workload, but never later then one hour after the imprisonment.

Attacks on holy temples/altars
:When a group attacks an enemy’s temple/altar, they can attack guards/emissaries, corrupt the altar without initiate a RP event, since we do not demand any RP when attacking NPC. Is the altar/temple however guarded by any player/players, a role play session will of course have to be initiated according to the normal PvP rules. Assuming the attackers has started the attack on an altar/temple not guarded by any players, but during the attack a group of defenders arrives to the scene, the following applies:

:*The attackers cannot attack on sight, until a RP session has been initiated or the defender has attacked.
:*The defenders can attack on sigh, since their sacred grounds has been attacked. But by doing so they also allow the attackers to attack back.
:*Should there be any doubt about the situations and a GM is involved, the attacker will have to provided evidence, in form of screenshot.

:You may not use the “I ban thee” Command to remove opposing religions from your altar/temple area. Using such is a markable offense and could result in Piety drop.

Special PvP rules
Blocking a passage
:It is not allowed to block a passage with wall of stone for another player BEFORE you introduce roleplay. You may use wall of stone AFTER you introduce roleplay, then use wall of stone to prevent their escape. A screen shot is required with your journal open to prove this. Before and after shots help. Remember it is the blockers responsibility to prove they roleplayed before use stonewall spell. Casting stonewall prematurely is considered an attack no matter if the player is harmed or not. You are responsible if the player is being attacked by monster and dies because your stonewall is in the way so they can relocate to answer your demands.

:*Example A (illegal): Bert runs through a narrow mountainside path. Ernie the robber on horseback discovers Bert and casts stonewall on both ends of this pass to prevent Bert from running away. Ernie then asks Bert to hand over his items or die.
:*Example B (legal): Bert runs through a narrow mountainside path. Ernie the robber on horseback discovers Bert and asks him to “Halt” and then to “Hand over his items or die”. Ernie waits for Bert to refuse, run away, or waits more then 10 seconds before taking action. Ernie is then allowed to cast stonewall to prevent Bert from running away.

:This rule also concerns using the res-kill system in order to use your bodies to block a passage leaving the escapee’s no way to exit. Also, the res-kill system cannot be used to use “I ban thee” multiple times over keeping a player from getting inside a deeded area because they cannot kill you.

:*Blocking a passage, an entrance or a part of a room completely with religion rites Interdiction and Blessed Peace is considered illegal.

Religions and robbers
:If a religion member is caught helping a robber under any circumstance, the member in question will either loose his piety or place in the religion. Helping them is not against shard rules so you won't get punished with a mark nor jail-time, but the religion gods do not accept robberies and therefore the characters doing that will be punished in-game instead.

Attacking trapped players
:You are not allowed to engage PvP inside a public or a private boat. It is also illegal to engage PvP inside locked doors (i.e. locking another player inside your house to rob him). There always needs to be a way out. Exceptions can be made in this rule (i.e. if someone is caught stealing from you, you’re allowed to attack) – but do ask the staff before you act.

Silent casting
:Silent casting/whispering spells is illegal to use before an attack.

Attacking from a boat
:It is illegal to attack other players/NPC’s from a boat to land with rites/spells/arrows/etc.

Recognizing other players
:Players (regardless of status: blue/grey/red) can be recognized by anyone, even under the influence of incognito.

:;Falsely accusing another player:
:*Trying to get a player marked by falsely accusing him for none roleplay kill, will result in a mark to the one who accused.

Religion members concentrating
:Religion members who transfer powers (by concentrating), cannot be held responsibly for supplying proves, but they can be held responsibly and punished for the consequence of the rite/ritual.

:;Exampe 1:
:*3 Law officers decide to pardon the most feared murderer on the shard. Only the caster of the salvation can be held responsibly for providing proves for the RP of the situation, but should he fail to do so, all 3 officers can be subject to punishment.

:;Example 2:
:*3 members of Tekstone combines powers and cast imprisonment on a Nature member. Only the caster of the salvation can be held responsibly for uploading SS, but should he fail to do so, or the imprisonment was illegal, all 3 tekstone members can be subject to punishment.

:It is therefore advisable to take SS, if you concentrate on someone

:;Using alternate characters during a pvp fight.
:*It is illegal to join a fight on your alternate character from now on, regardless of the circumstances.

Ghost Spying
:Ghost spying during religion/guild combat is only legal if it is done by a character in the opposing guild/religion. Anyone else caught loitering inappropriately will face an immediate 1-day jail.

Asshole rule
:Sometimes we run into a situation where a player or group of players takes advantages of some game mechanism or takes some rule to the limit for his own advantage. In such cases we allowed ourselves to judge him/them by the asshole rule, and undo what was done and/or punish him for acting like a moron.
:Usually this rule is used when a players actions seem to have no other intentions that to ruin the game for other players or when a scam is taken to far. Robbing and lie are part of the game, but within reasonable limits. There are no minimum amount before the asshole rule can used.

:;A few examples could be:
:*Person A gives money to Person B for a house exchange, and Person B decides not to give them the house
:*Constant harrasment toward a specific player without a proper RP reason to do so

:;A few examples that will not trick the asshole rule:
:*Person A is on his way to a house at the price of 900.000 gold, on the way person B Makes a legal robbery.
:*Person A dies to a greatdragon and are full looted, then person B arrives, kills and loot every item on the dragon, without handing any items back to Person A.
:*Person A are legally robbed by person B, person A tries to flees from B, but are killed and B loot equipment worth 2.000.000 gold

:The above stated example assumes that no other rule was broken, such as metagaming, account abuse etc.

Player vs. Monster (PvM) is sometimes referred to as Player vs. Environment (PvE), simply put, this is when a player compete against the perils of the in-game world and monsters.

When the player goes against other players, it's called PvP

Rules
:Due to some of the errors in the map, or limited monster AI, we have been forced to add some rules regarding Player versus Monster.

:*Because of problems with line of sight (LOS) with the map, it is in some areas possible to shoot arrows/magic/rites through the mountains. This type of hunting is not legal.
:*Shooting from a boat is illegal, as is luring a monster on a boat to attack it.
:*Any attacking with arrows/magic/rites where the monster is stuck, or prevented to get to you, will be considered as abusing.
:*Any training situation where the monster is stuck, or prevented to get to you, will be considered as abusing.

:The rules above do not apply if the monster is “stuck”. In such a case you are allowed to kill the monster, in order to add it to the spawn pool again, but if you gain any item from such a kill, its considered illegal.

:;Religious Mount Sparring
:*It is no longer allowed to hit your alts/friends religious mount when it’s tied up. This considered meta gaming and abusing the AI.
:*Hitting your own mount is still considered legal.

When you start a new charater, the following image will be prompt, as usual in Ultima Online:

Please note that in Pangaea there is a custom class-system, therefore there is no need of the Ultima standards Warrior, Mage and Blacksmith. You must choose ADVANCED in order to procede. Then another gump will appear:

In this screen, the choosen skills and stats are irrelevant, so you shouldn't care about what you choose in this screen, however you must choose anything to procede. When you enter in the world, a custom gump will allow you to choose everything.

Picking starting skills/stats
For Fighters
Some of the hardest skills to train are:
# Lockpicking
# Remove Trap
# Provocation
# Poisoning (Expensive to train)
# Resisting Spells
# Healing
The most valuable skills to train are:
# Healing
# Anatomy
# Tactics
# Resisting Spells
It is generally best to put all your stats into strength

For Magic Users
The hardest skills to train are:
* Spirit Speak
* Resisting Spells

The most valuable skills to train are:
* Meditation
* Evaluating Intelligence
* Resisting Spells
* Animal Lore
It is generally best to put all your stats into strength

For Merchants
The hardest skills to train are:
* Animal Taming
* Alchemy
* Cartography
* Mining
It is generally best to put all your stats into strength

Earning gold
The most common way to earn some gold when starting out is to head to a field and harvest some crops. Carrots and cabbage not only provide food for you and your pets, but vendors buy them for a few coins and it builds up your strength as well.

Wheat can be harvested and turned into flour near a flour mill (there's one located near the baker in Britain).

And lastly, cotton and flax can be harvested, then turned into yarn and cloth in the tailor shop, and then cut into bandages which fighters are more than happy to buy from you on the sales boards. This is usually the most profitable method.

After you've gained some strength and equipment, a few more options become available:
Fighters and Magic Users
* Hunting in Despise or other low level dungeons and monster camps (such as lizardmen and ratmen).
* Selling weapons, armor, items, and gems you find to vendors

For Merchants
* Selling whatever your merchant makes/harvests/tames to vendors or players
* Harvest sand and clay and sell it on the forum, or turn it into glass and bottles for an even higher profit

Training skills with vendors
Vendors are NPC merchants that you can interact with to sell and buy items. Some of them are also able to train you in certain skills in exchange for gold, but only up to 20 points.

Steps:
# Walk up to a vendor and say "Vendor train"
# They will tell you what skills they can train, each vendor is different
# Say "Vendor train [Skill name]" (make sure you do not train skills that the class you wish to enter does not possess, check here to see: http://pangaea-world.dk/pangaea/class-system)
# Drag the amount of gold to the vendor that he has specified as a cost
# You have gained a portion of that skill, vendors cannot train you beyond 20 points

Dying
When you die, you become a ghost, unable to physically interact with the world.

* No one can see you as a ghost, unless you are in "War Mode". It can be set in your paperdoll, or by holding down the Tab key.
* No one can understand you as a ghost. Anything you say will appear to them as "OOooOooooo" (Only characters proficient in Spirit Speak will be able to understand you)
* All items you had will stay with your corpse (except for certain noobified beginner objects). If you do not get back to your corpse in time, it will decay and eventually your items as well. Most monsters will loot your corpse when close by (you will have to kill them in order to get your items back). A quick way to loot everything from your corpse is with the "grab" command.

Resurrection
When you die you can be resurrected by the following means:
* NPC Healers: These can be found around the world wearing a robe and wizard's hat
* Other Players: If they see you as a ghost they might be willing/able to resurrect you with healing or magic
* Ankhs: These are scattered across the land (see the image on the right).

Plague
Plague, a fairly unique mechanic in regards to most other Ultima Online shards. This is considered a poison, though it could almost certainly be classified as a disease, but to keep it simple, it is thrown in the poison category. While the normal cure potions or spells do not cure it, it can be cured multiple ways, including but certainly not limited to the bard's Song of Cleansing and a Cleric's rite Purification.

Plague is unique in itself from the other poison types because unlike the basic poison types, those who are infected with Plague are able to spread it to other players and NPCs through close proximity of each other. It can be a very effective way of ravaging a city and crippling the city's defenses. It is important to note that if one plagues an NPC, they do not drop their natural loot, it will however drop any loot that it has looted. This is very good to note because should you find yourself with no other options in retrieving your belongings, there is still hope if you can find someone who can utilize Plague potions or spells.

Robbers (.mayday)
Sometimes, you might find robbers around (Players that dedicate their life to crime). When in trouble, players can use the command ".mayday" and call the local authorities (Order of Law or Order of Imperial), so they can be warned and help you as fast as they can.

There isn't allowed to rob or steal baseclass charaters.

Picking weapons
Check the Skill requirements for weapons list in order to check what weapon fits you the best.

Marcoing/macrochecks
Macroing, the art of looping a skill or ability over and over again in hopes to gain skill, monetary value or resources. On Pangaea, you are allowed to macro, you can use programs such as EasyUO or UOLoop.
* UOLoop allows for you to create fairly simplistic macros through the in game macro system and it will simply send the the key press to the client every X seconds for it to trigger the macro you set up in game.
* EasyUO however is a different beast altogether, with this handy tool you can create very extensive and complex macros. This tool requires you to learn how to write macros, but once someone has become even slightly proficient with the sometimes clumsy code, they are able to make some fairly good macros. This is the tool of choice when it comes to macroing on Pangaea for the simple fact that it can do some extraordinary tasks with the client.

Be warned however, while macroing is perfectly legal on Pangaea, Unattended macroing is not allowed. This is where the Macro Check comes in, it is a simple Gump that appears in game and asks you to input a two digit number that is shown in the gump. You have 5 minutes to answer with the correct answer before you are kicked offline and your name is added to the infamous "Unattended Macroing List". Do not fret if you fail a macro check or two, most veterans have failed at least one and most two, it is not the end of the world unless you are a habitual offender of this rule. If you find yourself having failed a macro check and your skill dropped, if you are very mad, the best advice would be to take a break from the game for a couple days to a week and let it blow over and pick up the pieces. It really is not anything to get steamed about, it happens to the best of the players on Pangaea, just do not make it a regular habit to breaking this rule.

Through the use of EasyUO and a Macro Check Alarm script, you are able to multitask a little easier while macroing, however, there are a couple points you ought to consider:
* Be vigilant, should you find yourself needing to leave the room, ensure that you have completely stopped your macro and if you are going to be gone longer than 5 minutes or you are unsure of the length of time, log out. It is always better to be safer then very sorry later.
* If you are waiting for an audio cue if a macro check gump appears, ensure your speakers are on and the volume turned up to an appropriate level and that your computer's sound is not muted and also it's volume at an appropriate level. Some people, including the person typing this now, have failed macro check(s) in the past for simple mistakes such as these, there was no forgiveness shown nor should there have been.

Joining your class
So your ready to join class? Do not be too hasty, there are tips and tricks you might consider before joining class, most veterans know them, but for those amongst us who are fairly new to Pangaea and the Class System that Pangaea offers, these are invaluable tips for the long life your character may have.

To begin with, just because you have the required two skills it takes to join your class, you might consider raising your desired classes' tertiary and penalty skills to their appropriate levels as they will raise faster in pre-classed. Once you have done this, you also might consider raising your secondaries to 65 as this means ultimately less time training while in class, while your secondary skills will not raise any faster pre-class than in class, it just means less training, indeed in most cases safer training.

However, once you have raised the skills to the levels you wish to get them to, head to your guild master and say join the class by using the word "join" either by itself or if you wish to properly adhere to a better RP atmosphere, which is something we should all strive for, use it in a sentence such as "I'd like to join your class."
