Help:Namespaces

From Pangaea Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Namespaces are used to separate different types of content. There a handful of standard namespaces that come with the installation, and then there are the custom namespaces.

Creating pages

Simplest way to create a page would be to search for it. If it does not exist then you get a link suggesting that you create it.

Prefixes

Different namespaces are defined by their prefix

No prefix
This is the main space of the wiki. These just get called pages.
Help:
Help pages for contributors
Template:
Content that can be inserted into other pages
Category:
Used for sorting wiki pages. Simply add them like you would a template. Pages of any namespace can be added to a category.
File:
Uploaded images are added to this namespace.
User:
These can be treated as user profiles or a personal sandbox.
Talk:
For discussions about content of specific pages, used for communication within the wiki. Automatically created when you press the Discussion tab.
Script:
Custom namespace for sharing scripts (for EasyUO).

Confirmation of namespace

In case you are worried that you spelled the prefix incorrectly (that would land the page in the main space), then you can always see the namespace in the first tab. In the example below we're creating Cuddles within the Script namespace.
