Piety (pron.:ˈpī-ə-tē | pie-eh-tee) determines the strength of a rite and duration of a rite. It also determines whether or not the rite is successfully cast.

How it's earned

While one might think of Piety as a sort of hidden skill, it is in fact completely different in how it is gained, one can't just simply train their piety to max. Instead it is earned through participation in the religion, their deeds both good or bad and finally especially in the higher piety ranges, their Role-Playing capabilities.

One can not just achieve maximum piety within a short time, there is in fact a timer system set in place. These timers are different for each class and the tables below reflect these timers.

Priests and Monks:

Piety Level Days in Religion
  • 10 - 20
  • 20 - 30
  • 30 - 40
  • 40 - 50
  • 14 Days
  • 30 Days
  • 90 Days
  • 150 Days

A total of 14 days to be 20 piety

A total of 44 days to be 30 piety

A total of 134 days to be 40 piety

A bare minimum of 284 days to be 50 piety

*It is important to note however, to achieve 50 Piety, the High Priest of the character hoping to achieve this feat must submit to the staff members a request to grant the character this honor. It is than voted upon by the staff members and only once they have deemed the character worthy will it be granted. The Head Priest does not have to submit a request for this honor to be bestowed upon one of his members, so in effect it also comes down to the judgement of the Head Priest to get the process started, but ultimately, the decision is still the staff's. The criteria the staff is going to judge the applicant on is role-playing, activity and status in the Religion and finally Fame.
