Treasure hunter is a versatile fighter class. While The hunter can fight the monsters off, he can also pick chests, decode maps, remove entrapments. This is a very popping and challenging character to play.

Creating a Treasure Hunter

When creating a Hunter keep in mind that lockpicking, remove trap and cartography are rather slow skills to master and they are also required to enter the class. Since Hunter's priority is and always will be picking all sorts of chests, the most preferred skills picked at the beginning due to their difficulty are:

50% skill - Lockpicking

30% skill - Remove Trap

30% skill - Cartography

Joining the Base Class

Skills required to join the Base Class are:

Cartography: 65%

Either of these: Lockpicking 65%, Remove Trap 65%, Tracking 65%

Since you need a decent amount of combat skills to reach the chest in order to train lockpicking, i would suggest training Cartography and Tracking to join class. But before rushing to get into class, it's best to gain as much useful experience as possible in the training grounds. It's a great place to meet new people, make connections that will be beneficial later on and to train up your combat skills to 65. Furthermore, some stat requirements are also needed to join class:

Strength: 55

Dexterity: 75

Intelligence: 10


Dexterity and Strength are gaining during combat training and itelligence when training cartography. In order to get cartography skill to 65%, drawing on blank maps is a necessity. Those maps can be aquired in the Library of Britain but in small amounts. The best way to obtain the maps is to ask a tinker to make you a substantial amount.

Enter the Treasure Hunter Class

Welcome! Now the fun begins! Tinker also provides lockpicks which are used to pick chests. Always remember to disarm any traps before you try to pick the chest!

To train lockpicking it is advised that you obtain a semi-decent set of armor and a weapon to defend yourself with. Those can be found on mobs, chests, charity chests scattered around Britain or bought from a blacksmith. To start with, you will be picking chests that are above ground in fields and around the forests, they're not hard to find just explore. After that, say goodbye to your sun tan. Treasure Hunters practically live in dungeons. Dungeons are a rich source of gold and magical items. Some dungeons are easy to defeat, for example: Despice. But mostly Treasure Hunters require a party of adventurers to kill harder enemies leaving a clear path to the wealthy chests.

Lockpicking can also be gained with map hunting. There are several levels of maps:

Tattered (lockpicking skill requirment: 40-50)

Frazzeled (lockpicking skill requirment: 50-70)

Frayed (lockpicking skill requirment: 70-80)

Worn (lockpicking skill requirment: 80-95)

Ragged (lockpicking skill requirment: 95+)


These chests are guarded by monsters, higher the skill needed to open the chest stronger the monsters, even dragons.

Special items found in chests:

Decorative items: trophies, benches, bottles, rugs, even piano...

Furniture Dye Tube [1000 charges] - to brighten up your furniture

Plenty of Magic Items, including clothes.

Armour restrictions

Treasure Hunters are free to use any type of armor supplied in the game. A full set of Plate armor offers the highest physical resistance so is the most common and logical choice.
